Last week was another successful week in the library as our third, fourth, and fifth grade classes got to hear about our Bluebonnet Book Program! Every year, 20 fabulous books are nominated for the Texas Bluebonnet Award, presented by the Texas Library Association. It's up to the 3-5 students in the state of Texas to read the nominees and decide which one is the best! In order to vote, students must read at least five of the books. Here at Union Hill, there are incentives for reading these books! Reading is already so fun, but it's even better when you get prizes for doing it!
After reading "A Fine Dessert" by Emily Jenkins and watching some of the book trailers for this year's nominees, the students are super pumped to read the books and possibly be on our Battle of the Bluebonnets team! I can't wait to see how many of our friends read all twenty books! Happy reading!
