The weeks leading up to Thanksgiving Break have been busy busy busy all around the school! Here are some of the exciting things that have happened in the library:

- Our Coins for Coats class winners celebrated collecting the most cups of money with a flashlight party! It was dark and fun!

-First and Second grade classes heard our latest Armadillo book, Drum Dream Girl by Margarita Engle, and got to play drums themselves! The students used the Garage Band app on the iPads to drum their hearts out and create fun rhythms!

-Some of our third grade classes came in and published their Fall poems using the Chatterpix app on the iPads. They had some cute videos!

-Fourth grade explored Free Verse and Lyrical poetry. They also got to hear the Bluebonnet Award nominee, Poems in the Attic by Nikki Grimes, and used their new knowledge to decide if the book was written in a free verse or lyrical format.

-Fifth grade came in for a quick read aloud of the Bluebonnet Nominee, Mesmerized by Mara Rockliff. Such a fun story that explains how the word "mesmerized" came about, and also how we got the Placebo Effect!

Many more great things will be happening before our winter break! I can't wait to see what kinds of things our students create!
