Whoosh!

This week we read our first Bluebonnet Book, Whoosh by Chris Barton. It tells the story of Lonnie Johnson, the inventor of the Super Soaker water gun. It's a great story about persevering! While reading, we learn that Lonnie was an inventor all his life. With that, I gave the students an opportunity to invent something of their own. Using recycled materials that were donated to the library, students created all sorts of unique inventions. Check out some pictures from the lesson here!
